What We Do

At the Philippine American Guardian Association (PAGA), our mission is to break the cycle of poverty for underprivileged Filipino Amerasian children. We strive to empower them, fostering self-esteem and equipping them to become valuable, respected, and actively participating members of Filipino society.

PAGA operates as a licensed social welfare agency with a focus on community-based programs. Headquartered in Metro Manila, we are accredited by the Department of Social Welfare and Development and recognized by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC). Our dedicated team of trained social workers and volunteers work tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of our beneficiaries through the following services:

Who We Serve

At PAGA, we’re dedicated to the Filipino Amerasians, the biracial children of Filipino mothers, and American soldiers stationed across Asia. Coined by Pearl S. Buck, the term refers to those often forgotten, facing abandonment and neglect.

Born to Filipino mothers and American fathers, mainly from the U.S. military, their estimated numbers range from 50,000 to 250,000, substantially outnumbering counterparts in neighboring countries.

Despite the historical ties between the Philippines and the U.S., Filipino Amerasians faced exclusion from the Amerasian Act of 1982, perpetuating unfair stereotypes. Our mission at PAGA is to break this cycle of neglect, offering education, healthcare, and support and empowering them to become valued members of Filipino society.

As geopolitical tensions escalate, our commitment grows stronger. The Filipino Amerasian community faces renewed challenges with ongoing military ties between the Philippines and the U.S. PAGA stands by them, providing hope, breaking barriers, and embracing a brighter future.
